Fare Thee Well

We are in El Dorado Hills. Dave and I have moved from Monterey and are living with his parents for the summer. Before we left Monterey, we did have some fun. My work had a BBQ on Thursday. There was great food and company. It was nice to be able to see everyone and say goodbye. They were also very generous with gifts. Thanks everyone! I'm going to miss you.

Dave and I rode our bikes to the BBQ and then stopped at the wharf afterwards for one last visit. I'm glad we did because the sea lions were there in full force. I guess they heard we were leaving and wanted to say goodbye. It was stinky but they made a lot of noise and were highly entertaining.

Later that night I had my last girl's night out with some friends. We mostly chit-chatted the night away and snacked on some goodness that involved sugar. My kind of party. It was a lot of fun.

I'm going to miss everyone so much. Luckily we're only 3 hours away. It's also very hot here in El Dorado Hills so I'm sure we'll find as many excuses as we can to escape the heat to visit Monterey. Thanks everyone for all you have done for us. We truly are blessed to have met such wonderful people.

Master Dave

Dave graduated yesterday with his Masters of Arts in Russian Translation and Interpretation at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. YIPEE!! Dave's parents came into town just for it and the day couldn't have been nicer. The ceremony was outside, which is risky in Monterey because you never know what the weather is going to be like. However, it was a beautiful day and we have sunburns to prove it (pictures below). The ceremony was a little longer than I think everyone would have liked and the heat didn't help but it was nice and afterwards they had a little reception.

That evening we had a BBQ at our friends, the Nilssons. It was in honor of Dave graduating and also kind of a going away party since we are moving in 2 weeks. There was great food and most of our closest friends from the area were there. We ate and talked a long time and then played the Wii and Taboo. We didn't leave until midnight. Good thing we all had church at 1:00. Thanks everyone for making it great! We are going to miss you! Here are some pictures from the exciting day.

Graduation Week

Dave is done...done with school FOREVER!!! So to celebrate his graduation I wanted to do something special every night of the week leading up to it. Graduation was on Saturday but we started celebrating in small ways on Monday night. So here it is.

Monday-We made Chocolate Milkshakes

Tuesday-We ate dinner at the Pacifica Cafe at the Embassy Suites. We got Chocolate Spoon Cake to go for dessert and watched the movie Willow.
Wednesday- We picked up a Little Caesar's Pizza and ate at our favorite wharf where there are tons of sea lions and watched the movie Seven Pounds.

Thursday- We had our friends, David and Sonja, over for dinner and games.

Friday- We ate dinner at Jordan and Sunshine's house and played games.

We had a great week. Dave applied to a lot of different companies and I worked. But our nights were fun and care free. Stay tuned for Graduation Day and the festivities.

I am a MASTER of the Universe!

That's right, today I just finished taking my last test at school...EVER! I am now a Master, at least of my own universe. I was going to bust out my fur underwear and broadsword and take a picture, but considering the fact that my "fur underwear" would just be a shirt tied around my loins, and my "broadsword" would be a large kitchen knife, I figured it wouldn't have the same powerful effect as the real He-Man would. Besides, where could I get an awesome iron vest stolen from the Red Cross at this hour? I did, however, call upon the powers of Grayskull to help me through my tests. I think my simultaneous interpretation tests were pretty awful, but the rest of them were alright. I don't really need to pass the simul tests in order to get my interpreting certificate, so it's not that big of a deal. I graduate on Saturday. Yes, I have the power!

And check out the size of 'dem der thighs! Since finishing my test, my thighs have been growing as well.Master's Degree completed. Next task: finding Skelator's lair.

Four-Eyes and Short Hair

I got glasses again. I've had glasses since I was in the 2nd grade and had them up until I was 14 and got contacts. I still had glasses but never wore them and not until recently did I decide I wanted glasses again for those days when my eyes just can't handle the contacts. They're really cute but my eyes have to adjust to them. It's weird seeing the frame and I kinda feel like I'm looking through a magnifying glass but I'll get used to it soon enough. I also got a hair cut. It's not too short but short enough. Sometimes I feel it could be a little longer when it is curly but it'll grow out. So here's a picture of the new me.

Last Week of School

This week is Dave's last week of school! He graduates on Saturday. We are so excited. For those who don't know or don't remember, Dave has been going to the Monterey Institute of International Studies for 2 years. He is getting his masters in Russian Translation and Interpretation. So in honor of Dave's last week of school I am sporting this school background. Congratulations Dave!!!!

Utah Trip

This past week I've been in Utah. I got to see a lot of family and friends. I went for my cousin Kaela's wedding (see previous post) and my old roommate Lindsay's wedding. Saturday was Kaela's wedding and then the rest of the time I was in Enoch I played with cousins, ran errands, went shopping, saw the movie Wolverine, got a hair cut, hung out with Nia and Holly, and just took it easy with my parents. I drove up to Provo on Wednesday and that night had a sort of bachelorette party with Lindsay and Alicia. Friday was Lindsay's big day. Here are some pics of the party and wedding day.

We got pedicures.

We ate at the Old Spaghetti Factory.

The three of us were roommates for about 5 years.

Alicia and I had a different idea for pictures.

Also while I was in Provo I ate breakfast at Kneaders twice, once with Cass and the other time with Alicia and Dave's brothers, Dan and Josh. It was so yummy. All you can eat incredible French Toast. I watched a couple chick flicks, went shopping, visited my Aunt Karen, ate with Alicia at her sisters, and had some good girl talk. It was a great trip and loved being able to see so many people that I love. I flew back to California on Saturday and was so excited to see Dave. The trip was fun but it's always nice to come back home.

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!

Kaela and Jeremy's Wedding Day

My cousin Kaela got married on Saturday, May 2. It was a wonderful day. I got to go to a temple marriage for the first time since my own. I cried. In fact, I cried a lot that day. I was happy for her but at the same time I couldn't believe that she was all grown up and getting married. She's only 3 or 4 years younger than me but it was still weird to see her get married and I don't really know Jeremy all that well. Everyone always has great things to say about him though so I know she's in good hands. Kaela is one of my cousins that I know the best so it was great to be able to spend the day with her and tons of family. She was beautiful and it was a happy day for everyone. Congratulations Kaela and Jeremy!

Coming out of the temple.

They're so cute and in love.

I love this picture and Kaela's big smile. She's always so happy.

FHE With Friends!

We had some friends over for FHE on Wednesday. Yeah that's how we roll. Monday night FHE is overrated. Just kidding. We normally do it on Mondays but it worked out better for a Wednesday. Anyway, we had pizza from Little Caesar's for only $3.99! Then we had FHE and finished the night with ice-cream, games, and some Youtube watching. It was fun. Here are some pictures of us and our crazy friends, Jordan and Sunshine.

Jordan working on poses for America's Next Top Model. He found the light.

This is how they normally look.

This is my cheesy and kind of creepy smile.

Youtube makes us happy.

Our First Apartment

I finally took some pictures of our luxurious studio apartment. It's not big but it's perfect for our first apartment because we don't have a lot. So without further adieu, here are some pictures.

A shot from the front door.

The master bedroom.

The kitchen and dining room.

The bathroom. The toilet and shower are to the right but I didn't think you needed a picture of it.

The stinky backroom. That's where we keep the prisoners. Or we just use it for storage.
