Halloween Cuteness

Jocelyn had a couple of Halloween outfits and I just wanted to show you how well she pulls off her cuteness.

Jocelyn really likes to look at pictures of herself so she wasn't happy being on this side of the camera.  And thanks Jenn for the hand-me-downs.  Gotta love cute free stuff.

Jocelyn's Halloween costume actually had this jacket to go with it but since the weather was amazing for our Ward Trunk or Treat, she didn't even need it.

This is Jocelyn's serious pose.

And this is what she wore on actual Halloween.  We went to Dave's dad's house for Halloween and only went Trick or Treating to a couple of neighbors so we didn't do our costumes again.  Thanks Grandma for the shirt and bows!

And here's a picture of her Trick or Treating with Grandpa.

I hope you all had a Spooktacular All Hallows' Eve!

Trick or TREAT?

I think I will choose treat every time.  Speaking of treats, here's what I made for Halloween this year.

Candy Corn Cookies

RIP Pudding Cups

For details on how to make these tasty treats visit my sisters' and my craft/baking blog here.

Punkin Carvin'

We went to the Hudson's again this year for some good old fashioned punkin carvin' (and dinner and cookies).  I like this tradition.  I just looked at our pictures from last year and it was fun to see how much the girls have grown.  Anyway, I would say we got way more into the carving this year because our pumpkins turned out awesome.  Have a looksie.

The prepping stage.  I love Jocey's expression in this picture.

The high intensity carving stage.

The finished product.  I know, you're jealous.

This is the first time Sienna and Jocelyn actually played together.  It was great.

All six of our cute lil' pumpkins.

I think the pumpkin weighs as much as Jocelyn.

"Rock, Paper, Scissors"

Yes, I enjoy a competitive game of Rock, Paper, Scissors but that's not what this post is about.  It's about Halloween.  Now you may be wondering how the two correlate.  Well stop your wondering and feast your eyes upon this.

Yep, we dressed up as Rock, Paper, Scissors for Halloween, well at least for our Ward Harvest Festival.  We actually had two Halloween parties last night.  We went to one of Dave's coworkers party for a little bit and ate and walked around their AMAZING house.  Then we headed to our Ward party.  They had lots of fun things going on like a hay maze, carnival games, frame making, picture taking, and more.  It ended with Trunk or Treating (thank you perfect weather) which was a success.  I was able to get rid of all our candy and Jocey came back fully loaded.

Happy Halloween!

"Happy talk, keep talkin' happy talk!'

Jocelyn's vocabulary has really exploded the last couple of months.  Her vocab along with sounds, counting, etc is well over 100.  The reason I know is because I started keeping track after her last doctors appointment because they said at her next one, they'll look into her talking abilities.  So I was curious and started keeping track.  She gets smarter and smarter every day and picks up things so quickly.  It is so fun.  I was going to include a video but I have been trying to upload it for the past couple of days with no success, so sorry, no video.  Maybe someday it will decide to work.  But instead here are some silly pictures of Jocey.

This is Jocelyn's "Trick or Treat" basket that she will use to collect candy for Dave and I.  She obviously thinks it makes a better hat but I think she will be pleasantly surprised when she learns what it's really for.

When Dave was in Las Vegas he picked up this cute onesie.  If you can't tell, it's a princess body.  I already had the tutu and I think it finishes off this outfit nicely.

Dave looked over at Jocey while he was eating and this is what he saw.  She's got skills.

It Seamed Good to Me

I, along with my sister-in-laws, have joined my sister's craft/baking blog.  We will all now be contributing to it so if anyone wants to see the creations we are making visit us here.

Enjoy!

Another Trip

Jocey and I were lucky enough to go to Utah again to visit my family.  Dave was in Las Vegas for a week for work so we also left.  Here's what we did.

We visited a pumpkin patch and then carved a pumpkin.

Jocelyn did some extensive reading and perfected her piano playing skills.

Jocelyn did hair and nails.

We shopped hard, played hard, and looked cute...hard.

And Jocey got sick the last couple of days we were there.  She was teething so she had a fever and then the next day she was sick (throwing up).  But I kind of enjoyed it.  Don't think I'm a bad mother or anything but she actually wanted to be snuggled and Jocelyn rarely allows that so I did enjoy that aspect of her being sick otherwise, it was just plain sad to see her laying around doing nothing.  But it was a quick sickness and she is back to normal.

"This Is Halloween!"

It's beginning to look like Halloween around the Ricks house.  And this is what we are watching tonight to get in the spirit of the holiday.

And here are some of our decorations.
