Nifty Fifty

Uncle Chris (from the Ricks side) turned 50 years old yesterday. What an old fart. :) We went over to the McCaffree's (they live right behind us) after dinner. We watched Uncle Chris open gifts. Very funny ones too. He got a walking stick, some pills to help with old age, a hair brush that doesn't have any bristles, a little night light for the toilet so he doesn't miss, a dice to help him make decisions on what he has to do that day, and some toilet paper with pictures and reading material to keep him entertained while on the pot. It was pretty funny. After that we played Mad Gab. Each team won once but my team won over all. Just need to put that in. Then we ate cake. It was German Chocolate with ice-cream. It was a fun little party. So here's to Uncle Chris. Happy 50th!

Sweet Tooth Heaven

This past Friday I got to go to the Jelly Belly Factory. It was pretty cool. Dave, Mom, Aunt Louise, Aunt Darlene, and Kimmy were there too. The tours are free. They give you a little hat to wear and then you walk around the factory. You see how they make and ship out the Jelly Bellies. It was pretty interesting and at the end of the tour you get a free mini bag of Jelly Bellies. Who could ask for more? They have a shop where you can get your Jelly Belly garb or just hand pick your favorite kind of Jelly Bellies, along with other candies they sell. Mom bought several bags of Belly Flops (those are the Jelly Bellies that just don't make the cut for perfection.) That should last a little while. After the factory we went to Marie Callender's for lunch. Yummy. We bought a Chocolate Satin Pie to go. So GOOD and RICH! I love food and if you can't tell I have a huge sweet tooth. So needless to say, I was in heaven on Friday.

They make murals out of Jelly Bellies. Here is Ronald Reagan.

Kathryn, Dave, Mom, Aunt Darlene, Kimmy, and Aunt Louise - We are a happy people.

"You have just won a brand new car." If it came with free Jelly Bellies for life, I would drive this.

Visitors, Cookies, and Spiders

Well this past week, Dave's uncle, aunt, and cousin came to visit. It was pretty chill but we had fun. Their last night here we had a family dinner and then played games. It was a lot of fun.
Dave, Brett, Devon, Brandon, Matt, and Ryan

Uncle Richard, Aunt Vivian, Dad, Mom, and Uncle Chris

Aunt Roseanne, Grandma, and Grandpa

Sunday was Father's Day and I decided to put my cookie cutters to use. Mom and I made cookies. We presented them to the dads, Ray and Artel (grandpa). It was a fun, tasty, and personal treat.

In other exciting news. I saw the biggest spider of my life up close and personal. Mom was shucking corn when she started screaming for someone to come out and kill a spider. It was a wolf spider with an egg sac. Gross. It was awful, so naturally I had to get a picture and a video. I'm not a spider person and lately I've seen them all over. There was another wolf spider in the front, a little one in the family room that walked right by my foot, a jumping spider on the front post thing, and another small one in the bathroom. These have all been within a week. I'm going to start having nightmares. I would be happy if they just stayed outside and away from me. Anyway, here's the picture you've been waiting for.

Here's To You...

Larry and Ray, my father and father-in-law. You're both amazing and Dave and I feel very blessed to have you both in our lives. Thanks for teaching us, playing with us, loving us, and everything else you have done for us. We love you and hope you have a wonderful day. We are who we are, in part, because of you. Happy Father's Day!

~LUAU~

Yesterday, our ward and another ward had a luau. It was lovely. There was roasted pig and everyone brought a dish of some sort. There was a lot of food, which was tasty. After eating and mingling, we had a small show of dancers. We visited the islands of Tonga, Hawaii, Tahiti, and Samoa. It was a nice, relaxing evening. Here's us and the family enjoying the cultural experience. ALOHA!

Gut Wrenching Laughter To Follow

I saw this video on my sister's facebook. It is hilarious. Dave and I got a good laugh out of it. I think you will too. Enjoy!

El Dorado Hills: Our Summer Home

No, Dave and I are not rich enough to have a summer home away from home. We are mooching off of his parents for the summer. This means free rent and food. We are looking for jobs currently which means we have a lot of free time. Here are some of the things we have been up to our first week at our summer home.
A little basketball. I won in H-O-R-S-E. And yes, Dave wore that hat the entire time.

A little baseball.

I'm a big fan!

A little XBox. I enjoy Karaoke Revolution.

Some working out, though this is mostly done by everyone but me. I do, however, want to get a jumprope and start working on becoming a professional/trick jumproper. I'll keep you updated on how that turns out.

A little bike riding to prepare for the big trip in July. I'm a driver.

So as you can see, Dave and I have been very busy. Jobs will be nice. Dave will most likely be doing some freelance translations and interpretations while I will probably take anything I can get though I would prefer to stay in my field of recreation. We'll see. We're having fun though and love being with family.
